Before you can get your adsense website up and running you will need to register a domain name. You should choose your domain name carefully. The biggest mistake I see people make is registering their own name - example: johndoe.com
To get Google to display relevant ads faster, it is very important that your domain name reflect the content of your website. Google looks for clues in your domain name to help it determine what ads to display when it hasn’t had time to spider your website, such as when it is brand new.
If I was going to put up an adsense website on home improvement I would would be looking for a domain name that reflects that. So rather than register my own name, or something that is totally unrelated, I will look for possible domains that contain the words “home improvement”. You will find out very quickly that most of the domain names with those words have already been registered.
So what do you do? Try hypenating the words. For example home-improvement.com or best-home-improvement.com or my-home-improvement.com If all the .coms are taken try a .net domain such as my-home-improvement.net or home-improvement-online.net You can also try other extensions such as .us/.biz/.info/.ws/.cc/.tv/.org
You will find that Google will show relevant ads much faster on your adsense website if you spend some time researching possible domain names.
The other benefit is that if you do a search for ‘home improvement’ you will see that Google bolds the words ‘home inprovement’ where it shows the URL if it finds those words in your domain name and may give more weight to sites with ‘home improvement’ in their domain name.
